“Thanks to regular sports massages from Rob, I am now able to partake in more intensive training than I could before as my back muscles were always constantly tight and my shoulders were too painful due to excessive use in various pursuits. I used to think it was normal to ache all the time and have tight muscles when doing a lot of training. My first massage was actually to sort out a painful IT band that I had from running training and since then I have had regular massages on my back and shoulders as well to allow me to continue to run, row, and just generally keep fit. “As always training for the marathon always has to happen when it’s dark,cold and wet and requires something more that just running to be slightly inviting. I found the others members of the club enjoyable company and helped me along but I’ve found your regular Emails giving the next run route/distance very useful, even the ‘hilly’ ones.

“I’ve really really enjoyed training with the group, to be honest I have no idea how I would have made it through the training without the support that it brings. I certainly would have turned back a lot earlier on a good few runs that’s for sure! I suffered from a knee injury from quite early on in the training and everyone was really good to me, being patient when I needed it and also giving me lots of useful advice on how to work through the pain. It’s really useful having the option of sports massages with someone who knows how you run and the aches and pains that you are suffering from. Also being able to email / text is really great.”

I really dont think I would have got through the 16 weeks of training without the help of Rob Callow and his Get Jogging Sunday marathon training & Wednesday evening sessions, both of which meet at FitForAll in Hove. Rob was always happy to help with useful tips on running and fitness. Training with a mixed group of friendly people really worked for me, we were a mix of abilities which enabled me to pair up with somone on the longer runs. “When I first came across Rob Callow I had heard only good things about his personal training from other people that had used him. I had been going to the gym 2-3 times a week. My biggest problem was doing bits and pieces in the gym, not really getting anywhere. You know, a bit of running then some weights. When I thought, it’s time to try something different, I called Rob knowing I was going to be fully committed. When Rob came to my house, we sat down and worked all the best time and dates that would suit me for training days for the month. He went over the nutrition side for me also. As I’m in sales I was eating a lot of junk food between my appointments, so Rob made me a weekly planner on what meals/food I should be having each day, which helped me a lot. I was weighing around 16 stone at the time. After my 4 weeks training with Rob I was 13 stone 12 pounds and feeling and looking much better. Rob will push you all the way to get the best results. So be prepared for change. It really will be worth it.”

“Rob has been training me now for a few months. We do not train at a gym, instead Rob comes to my place of work. He identified my targets, which were to get rid of the pain in my knees, lose weight and increase my energy level. To achieve these goals, Rob designed an exercise program and diet plan which incorporated my input and concerns as well as his expert knowledge in the field. I find both easy to understand and realistic to follow even when training on my own. Rob has a huge arsenal of exercise equipment and is always introducing new techniques for me to try so that the programme does not become stale. We switch from cardio to weights, trampoline to boxing. I used to dread the idea of going to the gym and working out. Now I find it exciting and fun. Even better the knee pain has gone. My energy level has increased dramatically and I feel so much fitter which makes me a lot more positive and confident in the job that I do. I would not hesitate recommending Rob. “I think that the most convincing testimonial to Rob is that almost everyone in the BNI (the business referral organisation) meeting I attend at a ridiculously early time every Wednesday morning (and where I first met Rob) has used him as a personal trainer. But if they haven’t – and are interested in being fit and healthy – they should consider it. Since I stopped playing football (badly) I go to the gym (badly). Rob has helped me with my techniques so I’m less likely to end up having to use our resident BNI chiropractor, Mike Cassidy-Hogg’s services. (Apologies to Mike.) Rob’s also helped me a lot with my diet. Plus he’s made training interesting. For me the gym can sometimes be an effort just because it can be boring. The hour just flies when Rob is training me. (The only reason I know we’ve had a full session is because I can’t move in the morning!) I’m an advertising copywriter. But I can’t beat a variation of Rob’s own slogan: if you want fitness now you can HAVIT.
PS: And my latest news is that Rob is great at helping youngsters stay fit too. He’s designed a personalised fitness programme for my 15 year old son who is already a HAVIT fan.”
